Emily Morgan
Emily's work focuses on guiding clients through negotiation with public agencies, often resulting in obtaining public records and enhanced transparency at public meetings without the need for costly litigation. Her negotiation and mediation skills have given her a strong reputation for maximizing alternative dispute resolution outcomes on behalf of our clients.

Whether she's helping a former foster care recipient obtain her case file records or assisting a group of parents in obtaining records relating to their children's education, Emily shares the firm's commitment to open government principles. Emily has a special interest in trade secret issues in the open government context and devotes a portion of her practice to trademark registration cases and related intellectual property matters.

Before joining Ramsingh Legal, Emily clerked at Baker Donelson and Lightfoot, Franklin, and White in Birmingham, Alabama. In law school, Emily earned academic awards for top performance in business law classes and successfully competed on the school's Mediation Team and in moot court.
​
In college, Emily worked for the Scottish Parliament as a legislative intern through an honors fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, producing a thesis on corroborating evidence in Scottish courts.

Emily is a former Boy Scout of America, and served on a state leadership board at a time when the organization did not officially permit young women to join the scouting program. She resides in Alabama with her family and their pet rabbit, Ptolemy.
